Every Man Jack Sandalwood Beard Oil Review – The Masculine Standard
The variety of beard oils just never ceases!
This is good for me, all things considered, because there is nothing I enjoy more than bringing you unbiased, experience-based reviews on beard oils. Well, there is one thing I enjoy more, but that isn’t beard-related.
Today, we are with the brand called Every Man Jack. Honestly, the name makes me think of being on a pirate ship, but this brand lacks the nautical theme and instead emphasizes outdoor adventure.
Every Man Jack offers five different scent options, which include Sandalwood (the scent for this review), Aged Bourbon, Sea Salt, Vanilla & Cedar, and an Unscented version. I have also used and reviewed the Every Man Jack Aged Bourbon Beard Oil option.
Update: Every Man Jack made some changes to the ingredients used and also provided a plastic cap for the top of the pump. I became aware of these changes when I used and reviewed the Aged Bourbon scent. The changes are reflected in this review, and the oil is the same as I used in the Aged Bourbon review — it’s only the scent that is different.
Description and Features

So, my first thought when I grabbed this bottle was just how heavy it felt.
Apparently, Every Man Jack makes its packaging out of recycled products, and they decided to go with real glass rather than plastic.
That makes the bottle pretty hefty by nature, with a pleasant clinking sound when you knock it against other stuff. Feels pretty thick, though sometimes that could be a double-edged sword. A thick bottle means there is less oil in the bottle itself.
The top uses a plastic pump rather than the standard eyedropper design. We looked at the Jack Black Beard Oil in the recent past, and honestly, that was possibly the best part of that beard oil. However, in this case, the Every Man Jack pump can’t be locked to keep it from accidentally spilling, but it does now come with an extra top cap (that sorts it).
Ingredients
Every Man Jack likes to bring up its all-natural and plant-based ingredients, and I do have to agree that they have some great things in this oil.

I am going to hit some of the high notes:
- Safflower Seed Oil: A light oil that moisturizes skin without causing acne and helps strengthen hair.
- Olive Fruit Oil: Improves the look of skin and helps heal irritation.
- Flaxseed Oil: Helps with anti-aging, reduces inflammation, and increases hydration.
- Shea Butter: Soothes inflammation, moisturizes, and protects the skin barrier.
- Borage Oil: A highly effective moisturizer that also helps control acne.
- Argan Oil: Softens hair and protects it from heat or cold weather.
- Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E): Keeps the oils fresh and helps moisturize the skin.
Official Ingredients List: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Fragrance/ Parfum, Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Linalool, Limonene, Coumarin, Eugenol, Geraniol.
The main ingredients in this blend are mostly safe and good for you. However, if you experience irritation, it is likely due to the fragrance or the specific scent ingredients: Linalool, Limonene, Coumarin, Eugenol, and Geraniol. Even though these are common in fragrances, they are known allergens that can cause skin reactions for some sensitive folk.
Scent
The aroma of this beard oil is a complex mixture of sweet and musky. It almost comes out as a cologne or aftershave scent. Something you’d wear to specifically attract someone rather than just keep your beard nice and groomed.
It starts sweet with a bourbon/vanilla aroma, but not too sweet. It isn’t cloying, but certainly has a delightful start.
The scent quickly shifts to something more musky, dipping into the natural sandalwood aroma that hangs on for a while. It is very warm and gentle overall.
If there is something not to like about the aroma, it’s that the scent really sticks around for a while. Most beard oils will dissipate about an hour after you apply it, but this one will stick around for hours. Hope you like the scent because it will hang on your face for several hours after you apply it.
User Experience
For this review, I used this beard oil on my face every other day for a week.
I always applied it to a clean and well-groomed beard after brushing it out. This works best if you use it right after showering or washing your face.

This beard oil is nice and light. Not watery or thin, but nothing heavy and waxy.

After applying this, I didn’t feel any kind of residue or build-up on my face. It evaporated pretty quickly, leaving only the soft scent.
I prefer these lighter-textured oils, but if you have a heavier beard than I do, or just prefer a thicker consistency, then you may find this quite thin.
If you have a longer beard, you might need to use more oil than you think. It’s always a negative because you will work through the oil quicker and have to order more sooner.
It’s pretty easy to use overall.
Just add this to your routine after a nice shower or washing your face. Three pumps are typically enough for my face, but then again, I have been blessed with a pretty full face and cheeks.

I know I say this in almost every article, but it is honestly true. Make sure to clean your beard and skin before using this beard oil. Otherwise, you are seriously going to risk some acne and irritation issues.
The upgrade of this beard oil from the previous one I used and reviewed seems to hydrate better and feels more pleasant on my beard.
Value for Money
As of right now, you can find this beard oil on Amazon or the Every Man Jack website for around $12 USD.
That isn’t a bad price to be honest, but there are some less expensive options out there. King C Gillette Beard Oil is only about $6 USD, and is actually of good quality.
On the other hand, I have also reviewed beard oils that are priced more than $20 USD, and those were definitely not as high quality as this product.
Overall, this price isn’t bad if you are looking for something new to try, but if you are just looking for something inexpensive, I would pass.
Final Thoughts – (Verdict – Who’s it For?)
Final thoughts on a product like this are always hard to put into words without sounding like I am going to repeat myself.
Honest thought is that this Sandalwood Beard Oil is really nothing you can’t get from any other source. I like the pump on the top of the bottle, as that makes it so much more usable than the eyedropper method, but the oil itself is much like many other oils.
So, should you get it? If you want to try something new, go for it, but if you already have a favorite beard oil, this one isn’t going to replace it.
