Suavecito Premium Blends Beard Oil Review – Premium Style

holding Suavecito Premium Blends Beard Oil inside tubed box

Times are tough for some right now, so if you are anything like me, you almost always put basic unleaded gasoline in your car. It’s a good day when you can afford to put some seriously premium gas in your tank. You can tell the difference when you use the Premium Gas.

To bring this tortured metaphor full circle, you can tell the difference between using a premium blended beard oil versus something basic and normal.

Sauvecito Oil joined our beard oils recommendations you can check out here10 Best Beard Oils.

Suavecito is a top-of-the-line company in California with a rather large amount of products for sale. For the most part, they are focused on men’s grooming as it pertains to hair care, beard care, and skin care. However, they also have products for both women and kids.

They also have an extensive line of merchandise like t-shirts, hats, wallets, and jackets.

Overall, Suavecito is a big name for stylish shaving and grooming, but how does their premium blend beard oil hold up to scrutiny?

So what is so special about this? Well, that comes from the oil itself. Suavecito has 2 lines of beard oils. One is their regular oil, and then there is this premium oil. The main difference between the two is that more possible scents are included in the Premium Beard Oil. The lesser difference is slight and has more to do with the texture of the oil itself.

Scent

For this review, I used the Whiskey Bar scented beard oil. It was aged in oak whiskey barrels to get the specific scent they were going for while adding some strong cedarwood, patchouli oil, and jasmine notes.

The aroma starts with a soft musk that moves swiftly into a light floral smell. There is the sweet aroma of whiskey that underlines everything. It finishes clean with very little lingering scent, meaning it shouldn’t clash with other aromas from other products.

The other scents available are:

Black Amber: Bitter Citrus, Basil Leaf, and Cedar

Rum Cask: Pineapple, Coconut, and Sea Salt

Cedar Cabin: Cedarwood, Clove, Sage, and Orange Rind

Ivory Bergamot: Tangerines, Bergamot, and Pepper

Sandalwood: Sandalwood base with Sage, Vanilla, and Patchouli

Bay Rum: Rum and Sugar, with citrus mango notes

Unscented: What it says on the tin. No scents were added. Great for sensitive skin.

Ingredients

Suavecito lacks when it comes to the ingredient category. While it does have healthy ingredients like Argania Spinosa Kernal Oil, it has some ingredients that are relative tongue twisters.

One jumps out at me, which is Cyclopentasiloxane, which is a silicone ingredient. It is used in cosmetics, medical-grade equipment, and other washes. It is a silicone gel that allows the product it is included in to dry quicker than water.

Why is this a problem? Well, it is restricted in the EU, because of the danger of it getting into the water supply.

User Experience

For this review, I used this beard oil every other day for a week. I applied it to my mustache and beard after washing, trimming, and combing it.

Overall, I was very impressed with how this beard oil felt on my skin. It was easy to use and easy on the skin. It made my beard feel soft and yet strong at the same time.

More than anything else, it kept my beard itching and beard dandruff in check. That is truly the most important test of strength.

How is the Texture?

The texture of this oil is very strange. Looking at it in the bottle, or when you squirt some into your hands, it looks thick and almost gel-like. Closer to a silicon gel rather than an oil.

Then, when you put it on your face, it smoothes out almost immediately. I could feel my beard, hair, and skin just drinking this in to replenish itself. After a few days, my beard felt so much softer and stronger at the same time.

Unlike many balms or oils I have used, after about 30 minutes, I didn’t even feel it on my skin anymore. It just dried and soaked in, doing what it needed to keep my skin and beard healthy.

The one downside of that is that there is little to no ability to hold or style your beard. So, if you are going for a specific style look, you will need to combine this with a wax to keep the style in place.

How Easy is it to Use?

This isn’t hard to use at all. Like with everything else, you want to make sure to apply this to a clean beard after you do any trimming. Then, brush and comb it afterward.

You would want to use this on shorter beards and goatees because it doesn’t have a “holding” ability for styling. I would recommend a balm if you want something specifically for a longer beard.

Value for Money

Along with the ingredients, I would certainly say that this is a sticking point.

As it is currently, it is 14 USD for one 1 oz bottle on both Amazon and the Suavecito website.

For one ounce of fluid, that is quite overpriced, especially when you add shipping & handling onto the price.

I can get a beard oil or balm of similar quality for less.

The one point that is in its favor is that a small drop goes a long way. So, this beard oil will last you for a good while.

Common Consumer Complaints, Issues, and Positive Reviews

Consumer reviews for Suavecito Premium Blend Oils are overwhelmingly positive. People like this beard oil, and honestly, what isn’t to love?

Positive Reviews

Almost every customer raves about the scents available for this beard oil. They like the scents they chose and will mention it even when talking about the other aspects of the product. It has some classic aromas that will go with almost any palette. However, you might have to try several before you find one you connect to.

Others enjoy the lightweight texture of the oil. It dries quickly, won’t clog your pores, and won’t soak into your clothing. I haven’t had any stains from beard oils or beard balms on my clothing, but I have gotten it on a shirt and smelled like it all day. That doesn’t happen here. People like feeling clean, and this medicates your face without leaving a residue behind.

Finally, I see plenty of customers raving about how healthy this make makes their beards look. Not necessarily their skin looking great, but raving about how their beard now has a gentle shine to it. Several guys mention how their girlfriends love the soft texture their beards have taken on, and I love how many compliments they get.

Consumer Complaints

Critical reviews are fewer, but they are rather harsh.

A few reviews comment that the gel-like nature of the beard oil makes it not a beard oil at all. It is all semantics really, but there are more than a few who bring it up. The consistency is closer to a beard gel, but I still enjoy the feeling.

Like other reviews before, there are just as many people who hate the scents as like them. One of the major downsides to shopping online is you can’t try out the aromas before dropping your hard-earned money on them. I am sympathetic to this argument, even if it is subjective.

A great deal of reviews also talk about how the bottle tends to leak. I don’t know if it is a past design or the same design as these current pump-top dispensers. Apparently, before this, they were using an eyedropper, which probably did not work well with the texture. If you want to travel with this beard oil, I recommend bagging it in a ziplock bag to ensure nothing spills out over your clothing.

Final Thoughts – Who is Suavecito Premium Blends Beard Oil really for?

Overall, I enjoyed the Suavecito Premium Blends Beard Oil, and I would like to try their other products as well.

Would I recommend it to my friends and family? Maybe.

This beard oil is great for guys with shorter beards who want to make sure their beard looks good and has a healthy shine. The price may be slightly higher than some people would want, but it isn’t a bad choice for anyone. If you are looking to try something new, this might be just what you need.
